In a large pot, heat 500 ml of water to about 70°C (158°F). Add 120 g of barley malt and 30 g of rice. Stir well and allow the mixture to sit for 60 minutes to convert the starches into sugars.

Step 1: Prepare the Mash

After the mash has rested, sparge the grains by adding another 1 liter of hot water (around 75°C or 167°F) to rinse out the sugars. Collect the liquid (wort) in a separate pot.

Step 2: Sparging

Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add 15 g of hops and boil for 60 minutes. This will help extract the bitterness and flavor from the hops.

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using an immersion chiller or an ice bath until it reaches around 20°C (68°F).
