Fried Pickles Ingredients

Method

Fried Pickles Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small amount of batter in; it should sizzle and rise to the surface.

  4. 4

    Fry the Pickles

Dip each pickle slice into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered pickles into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried pickles from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with Ranch dressing for dipping.
