Pizza Dough and Toppings

Method

Preparation and Baking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Roasted Garlic

While the dough is rising, roast the garlic. Wrap the garlic cloves in aluminum foil and roast in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until soft. Squeeze out the roasted garlic and mix it into the marinara sauce.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to warm up.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Pizza

Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into your desired shape. Spread the roasted garlic marinara sauce evenly on the dough, then top with mozzarella cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake the Pizza

Transfer the assembled pizza to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and sprinkle black pepper to taste. Slice and serve hot.
