Cooking Instructions

1

Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2

Cook the Sausage

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the spicy Italian sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Remove and set aside.

3

Toast the Pine Nuts

In the same skillet, add the pine nuts and toast them for 2-3 minutes until golden brown, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Remove and set aside.

4

Make the Sauce

In the skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until slightly reduced.

5

Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked penne pasta, cooked sausage, toasted pine nuts, and fresh basil into the skillet. Toss everything together to coat in the sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

6

Serve

Serve the pasta hot, topped with dollops of fresh ricotta cheese and additional fresh basil if desired.
