Cooking Instructions
Prepare the Seafood
Rinse and prepare all seafood, ensuring clams and mussels are scrubbed clean. Set aside.
Add Stock and Marinara
Pour in fish stock and marinara sauce. Stir in dried oregano, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
Cook the Seafood
Add cod fillets to the pot and simmer for 5 minutes. Next, add shrimp, clams, and mussels. Cover and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and the shells have opened.
Optional Pasta and Sausage
If using, cook pasta according to package instructions in a separate pot. In the same pot, brown Italian sausage until fully cooked, then combine with the cioppino.
Finish and Serve
Stir in fresh parsley and basil just before serving. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with crusty bread.
