Method

Cooking the Burger

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with sea salt and black pepper until just combined. Form into a thick patty.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place the aged cheddar slices on top of the patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix well.

  2. 5

    Build the Burger

Spread the classic sauce on the bottom half of the potato bun. Place the patty with melted cheddar on top, followed by pickled onion, tomato jam, and lettuce. Top with the other half of the bun.

  3. 6

    Serve

Serve the burger immediately with your choice of side.
