Method

Preparation of Flax Crumble

1

Toast Flax Seeds

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the flax seeds for about 5 minutes or until they are fragrant and slightly browned. Stir frequently to prevent burning.

2

Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the toasted flax seeds, olive oil, and salt. Mix well until the flax seeds are coated. Set aside.

Preparation of Vinaigrette

3

Combine Vinaigrette Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together honey, spruce tip vinegar, olive oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembling the Salad

4

Combine Salad Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed local greens and house preserves. Toss gently to combine.

5

Add Vinaigrette

Drizzle the prepared vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to coat the greens evenly.

6

Top with Flax Crumble

Sprinkle the toasted flax crumble over the top of the salad before serving.
