Cajun Crab Cakes
Method
Cooking Instructions
Prepare the Crab Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the crab meat, breadcrumbs, Cajun seasoning, green onions, mayonnaise, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Form the Cakes
Shape the mixture into patties, about 2 inches in diameter. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat until shimmering.
Fry the Crab Cakes
Carefully place the patties in the hot oil, frying them in batches if necessary. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
Drain and Serve
Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with a remoulade sauce on the side.
