Meatballs
Method
Assembly and Baking
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into large meatballs, about the size of a golf ball. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for about 25-30 minutes or until they are cooked through.
- 4
Prepare the Sandwich
While the meatballs are baking, prepare the Italian rolls. Cut the rolls in half, and place a few spoonfuls of marinara sauce on the bottom half of each roll.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Once the meatballs are done, place three meatballs on each roll. Top with additional marinara sauce and a slice of provolone cheese.
- 6
Bake the Sandwich
Return the assembled sandwiches to the oven and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve hot.
