Cook the Sausages
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage links and cook until browned on all sides, about 10-12 minutes. Ensure they are cooked through.
Prepare the Marinara
While the sausages are cooking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the sauce, stirring to combine.
Melt the Provolone
Once the sausages are cooked, place them in the skillet with the marinara sauce. Top each sausage with provolone cheese, cover the skillet, and let it cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Serve
Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with fresh basil. Serve the sausages hot, with a side of additional marinara sauce and crusty Italian bread.
