Method

Preparation Steps

1

Cook Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2

Prepare Meat Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add ground beef, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

3

Combine Sauce and Spinach

Add marinara sauce to the skillet with the beef. Stir in fresh or thawed spinach until wilted or heated through. Remove from heat.

4

Layer Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce mixture. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread a layer of ricotta cheese followed by a layer of the meat sauce. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese on top. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.

5

Bake

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

6

Rest and Serve

Allow the lasagna to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy your Italian Flag Lasagna!
