Wafer Layers

Milk Chocolate Coating

Method

Wafer Layers

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, and melted unsalted butter until well combined.

4

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.

5

Bake the Wafers

Spread the batter evenly onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely.

Hazelnut Cream Filling

6

Prepare the Cream

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped roasted hazelnuts, Nutella, and heavy cream. Whip the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy.

7

Fill the Wafers

Once the wafer layers have cooled, spread a generous layer of the hazelnut cream filling between two wafer layers. Repeat until all layers are filled.

Milk Chocolate Coating

8

Melt the Chocolate

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the milk chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.

9

Coat the Wafers

Dip each filled wafer into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Place them on a wire rack to allow excess chocolate to drip off.

10

Set the Chocolate

Allow the chocolate coating to set at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for quicker setting.
