Method

Beef Preparation

1

Prepare the Beef

Start by thinly slicing the beef sirloin against the grain into strips.

2

Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the beef strips and toss to coat. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

3

Cook the Beef

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated beef for about 5-7 minutes, or until cooked through and browned. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes.

Vegetable Preparation

4

Prepare the Vegetables

While the beef is marinating, chop the romaine lettuce, dice the tomato, and slice the red onion thinly.

5

Warm the Pita Bread

Heat the pita bread in a toaster or on a skillet for a few minutes until warm and pliable.

Tzatziki Sauce Preparation

6

Make the Tzatziki Sauce

Grate the cucumber and squeeze out excess moisture. In a bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, dill, and salt until well combined. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Assembly

7

Assemble the Gyros

To assemble, place a portion of cooked beef onto a warm pita, top with lettuce, tomato, and red onion slices. Drizzle with tzatziki sauce before wrapping the pita around the filling.
