1. Boil the Penne Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook until al dente according to the package instructions, about 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside.

2. Prepare the Garlic and Parsley

Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. Wash and finely chop the fresh parsley leaves. Set both aside for use in the sauce.

Making the Arrabbiata Sauce

3. Sauté Garlic and Chili Flakes

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add the chopped garlic and red chili flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant but not browned.

4. Add Tomatoes

Add canned crushed tomatoes to the skillet. Stir well to combine with the garlic and chili. Simmer the sauce for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

5. Season the Sauce

Season the sauce with salt to taste. Continue to simmer for another 2-3 minutes to allow flavors to meld together.

Add the drained penne pasta to the skillet with the arrabbiata sauce. Toss well to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.
