Lasagna Bolognese Ingredients
Method
Preparation Steps
Prepare the Bolognese Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Stir in the ground beef and pork, cooking until browned.
Add Tomatoes and Simmer
Pour in the red wine, allowing it to reduce for a couple of minutes. Then add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Finish the Sauce
Stir in the milk and let the sauce simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add fresh basil leaves.
Cook the Lasagna Noodles
While the sauce is simmering, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Layer the Lasagna
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, spread a layer of Bolognese sauce at the bottom. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce, then add more sauce, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of sauce topped with mozzarella.
Serve
Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with additional basil if desired and serve.
