Calzone Filling

Method

Preparation and Assembly

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until tender. Stir in chopped spinach, salt, and black pepper, and cook until spinach wilts. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix the Cheese

In a large bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses. Add the cooled mushroom and spinach mixture to the cheese blend and mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Dough

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface to about 12 inches in diameter.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Calzone

Place a generous portion of the filling on one half of the dough, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press the edges to seal. Crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch.

  5. 5

    Bake the Calzone

Transfer the calzone to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cut a few slits on the top to allow steam to escape. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the calzone cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy your Calzone Parisienne!
