Method

Filling Preparation

1

Mix the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Wrapper Assembly

2

Prepare the Wrappers

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface or cutting board. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture into the center of the wrapper.

3

Seal the Wrappers

Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with a little water using your finger. Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle shape and press the edges tightly to seal. Make sure there are no air pockets. Repeat the process for all wrappers and filling.

Frying

4

Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Rangoon

Carefully add the filled and sealed wonton wrappers into the hot oil, a few at a time, to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

6

Serve

Serve the crab rangoon hot, with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.
