Method

Preparation of Marinade

1

Mix Marinade Ingredients

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Whisk together until the sugar is fully dissolved.

2

Marinate the Beef

Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add it to the marinade. Ensure all the beef is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1-2 hours for better flavor.

Cooking

3

Prepare the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or non-stick skillet over high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

4

Cook the Beef

Remove the beef from the marinade, letting the excess drip off. Grill or sauté the beef strips in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

5

Add Vegetables

In the last minute of cooking, add sliced bell pepper, mushrooms, and chopped green onions to the skillet or grill. Stir-fry briefly until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

Serving

6

Plate and Garnish

Transfer the cooked beef and vegetables to a platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro before serving.

7

Serve

Enjoy your beef yakiniku with steamed rice or as is, and pair with additional dipping sauces if desired.
