Fried Chicken Sandwich
Method
Preparation Steps
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine chicken thighs and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Prepare the Coating
In another bowl, whisk together flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
Dredge the Chicken
Remove chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dip each piece into the egg mixture, then coat with the seasoned flour, pressing to adhere.
Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Make Basil Mayo
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise with chopped fresh basil. Set aside.
Assemble Sandwich
Toast the brioche buns. Spread basil mayo on the bottom half. Add fried chicken, followed by dill pickles, lettuce, and tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve with French Fries
Prepare French fries according to package instructions. Serve alongside the fried chicken sandwich.
