Bourbon Peppercorn Sauce

Sautéed Spinach

Method

Steak Preparation

1

Cook the Steak

Season both sides of the NY strip steak with salt and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest.

Bourbon Peppercorn Sauce

2

Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add minced shallots. Sauté for 2 minutes until translucent. Carefully add bourbon and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add heavy cream and crushed peppercorns, stirring until thickened. Add butter and mix until melted.

Sautéed Spinach

3

Sauté the Spinach

In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add fresh spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt and black pepper.

Mashed Potatoes

4

Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Boil cubed potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to pot. Add butter, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth.

French Fries

5

Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C). Add cut potatoes in batches and fry until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt.
