Method
Taco Filling Preparation
- 1
Cook the Beef
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- 2
Add Ground Beef
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3
Season the Beef
Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated with the spices. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Taco Assembly
- 4
Warm the Tortillas
While the beef is cooking, warm the soft tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side, or until pliable.
- 5
Assemble the Tacos
To assemble each taco, place a few spoonfuls of the seasoned beef mixture in the center of a warm tortilla. Top with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime.
- 6
Optional Toppings
If desired, add a dollop of sour cream on top of the taco before serving.
