1. Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients and prepare the meat, vegetables, and herbs.
2. Cook the Meat
In a large pan or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add your choice of meat and cook until fully cooked. Remove from the pan and set aside.
3. Sauté the Vegetables
In the same pan, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
4. Add Bell Peppers
Add the sliced bell pepper to the pan and cook until slightly softened.
5. Combine Rice and Meat
Add the cooked rice and the cooked meat back to the pan. Stir to combine.
6. Season the Rice
Pour in the soy sauce, add salt and pepper to taste, and mix well.
7. Add Basil
Fold in the fresh basil leaves and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the rice is heated through and the basil is wilted.
8. Serve
Remove from heat and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious basil fried rice!
