Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Add the beef steak and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Onions

Slice the onions into thin rings. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until they are soft and golden brown. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off, and place it in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer depending on your preference.

  4. 4

    Combine and Serve

Once the steak is cooked, add the sautéed onions back to the skillet to warm through. Serve the bistec encebollado with rice, French fries, broccoli, or tostones on the side.
