Preparation
Cook the Chicken
In a pot, add the chicken breasts and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20-25 minutes until fully cooked. Remove chicken, let cool, and shred.
Cooking
Sauté the Onions and Garlic
In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent.
Add Tomato Sauce and Spices
Pour in the tomato sauce and water. Stir in cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, salt, and chili powder. Bring to a simmer.
Combine Shredded Chicken
Add the shredded chicken to the skillet. Mix well and let it simmer for another 10-15 minutes, until everything is heated through and the flavors meld together.
Serving
Garnish and Serve
Serve the Chicken Akdah hot, garnished with fresh cilantro. Enjoy with rice or bread.
