Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

  2. 2

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.

  4. 4

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  6. 6

    Fold in Nuts and Figs

Gently fold in the chopped walnuts, chopped pecans, and dried figs until evenly distributed.

  7. 7

    Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Allow the pound cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with halva and chantilly cream.
