Preparation Steps
1. Boil the Eggs
Place the eggs in a pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and then lower heat to a simmer for 10-12 minutes. After that, transfer them to an ice bath to cool.
2. Prepare the Potato
While the eggs are cooling, peel and dice the potato. Boil in salted water until tender, about 10-15 minutes. Drain and let cool.
3. Chop Ingredients
Finely chop the shallot, cornichons, and smoked salmon. Set aside.
4. Make the Filling
Once the eggs are cool, peel and slice them in half. Remove the yolks and place them in a bowl. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, chopped shallot, potato, cornichons, smoked salmon, and fresh dill. Mix until smooth.
5. Fill the Egg Whites
Spoon or pipe the filling back into the egg white halves.
6. Garnish and Serve
Top each deviled egg with a small amount of caviar and a sprinkle of fresh dill. Serve chilled.
