Cinnamon Rolls
Method
Cinnamon Roll Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center and add melted butter, warmed milk, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 3
Roll and Fill
Once risen, roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread softened butter over the surface, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly. Roll the dough tightly into a log.
- 4
Cut and Second Rise
Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- 5
Bake the Rolls
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Allow them to cool slightly while you prepare the icing.
