1. Prepare the Shrimp
Rinse the raw shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Remove the shells and devein if not already done.
2. Cook the Shrimp
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side without stirring.
3. Add Garlic
Flip the shrimp and add the minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
4. Make the Parmesan Butter
Reduce the heat to low and add the unsalted butter to the skillet. Allow it to melt over the shrimp. Once melted, add the grated Parmesan cheese and lemon juice. Stir until well combined and the cheese begins to melt.
5. Finish with Parsley
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
6. Serve
Transfer the garlic shrimp to a serving dish, spooning the buttery sauce over the top. Serve immediately with lemon wedges if desired.
