Preparation Steps
Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
Soak the Bread
Dunk each slice of challah bread into the egg mixture, making sure to coat both sides. Allow the bread to soak for about 30 seconds.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
Arrange in Baking Dish
Place the soaked bread slices in the greased baking dish in a single layer.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the custard is set.
Serve
Remove from the oven and serve warm, topped with seasonal fruits and drizzled with maple syrup.
