Method

Burger Patty Preparation

1

Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Borracho BBQ Sauce Preparation

3

Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, beer, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

4

Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Cooking the Burger

5

Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

6

Add BBQ Sauce

During the last minute of cooking, brush the patties generously with the Borracho BBQ sauce and let it caramelize slightly.

Assembling the Burger

7

Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

8

Layer the Ingredients

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, a slice of tomato, and top it off with crispy onions.

9

Finish the Burger

Cover with the top half of the bun, press down gently, and serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
