Shrimp Poboy Ingredients

Method

Shrimp Poboy Directions

1

Prepare the Dredge

In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

2

Prepare the Egg Mixture

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.

3

Dredge the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the egg mixture, then dredge in the cornmeal mixture. Ensure each shrimp is well coated.

4

Fry the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5

Assemble the Poboy

Slice open the French bread rolls. Spread mayonnaise on the inside, then layer with shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, pickles, and fried shrimp.

6

Add Hot Sauce

Drizzle hot sauce over the shrimp to taste. Close the sandwich and serve immediately.
