Crispy Chicken Strips
Method
Preparation and Cooking
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken breasts and ensure they are fully submerged. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
Prepare the Breading
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Bread the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken strips in the hot oil, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
Prepare the Honey Mustard Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together honey and Dijon mustard until smooth.
