Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined, then form into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.

  2. 2

    Brown the Sausage and Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sweet Italian sausage, cooking until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside. In the same skillet, add the meatballs and brown them on all sides, then remove and set aside with the sausage.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook until translucent. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Combine and Simmer

Return the sausage and meatballs to the skillet, stir to combine, and reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Cook the Spaghetti

While the sauce simmers, cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  6. 6

    Serve

Toss the spaghetti with the Sunday gravy, serve hot, and garnish with chopped parsley.
