Penne Bolognese Ingredients

Method

Penne Bolognese Directions

1

Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2

Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.

3

Add Meat

Add the ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula.

4

Deglaze with Wine

Pour in the white wine, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes.

5

Mix in Tomato Sauce and Cream

Stir in the tomato sauce and heavy cream. Season with salt and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.

6

Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked penne to the sauce and stir until well coated. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

7

Serve

Serve the Penne Bolognese hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil.
