Chicken Parmigiana Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- 2
Dredge the Chicken
Set up a dredging station with three plates: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Dip each chicken breast first in flour, then in eggs, and finally coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken breasts for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Place the fried chicken on top of the sauce. Pour additional marinara sauce over the chicken and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- 5
Bake the Chicken
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Cook the Spaghetti
While the chicken is baking, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- 7
Serve
Serve the chicken parmigiana over a bed of spaghetti, garnished with fresh basil if desired.
