Burger Ingredients

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Balsamic Caramelized Onions

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until they begin to soften (about 5 minutes). Stir in balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking until onions are caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Form the Burger Patties

Divide the ground beef into two equal portions (8 oz each) and form them into burger patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Grill the Burgers

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of white cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  4. 4

    Toast the Challah Rolls

While the burgers are grilling, cut the challah rolls in half and place them on the grill, cut side down, for about 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Spread garlic mayo on the bottom half of each toasted challah roll. Place the grilled burger patty with melted cheese on top, then add a generous spoonful of tomato jam and the balsamic caramelized onions. Top with the other half of the roll.

  6. 6

    Serve and Enjoy

Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite side.
