Nashville Hot Chicken Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

1

Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken tenders to the mixture, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

2

Prepare the Breading

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

3

Bread the Chicken

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring an even coating. Shake off any excess flour.

4

Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken tenders in batches. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5

Create the Hot Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together additional hot sauce, honey, and a pinch of cayenne pepper to taste. Brush the sauce generously over the fried chicken.

6

Skewer the Chicken

Once the chicken is coated in the hot sauce, thread each tender onto a wooden skewer for easy serving.
