Preparation Instructions

1

Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add the melted butter, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.

2

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

3

Shape the Pretzel

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope and shape it into a pretzel shape.

4

Boil the Pretzel

Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add 1/4 cup of baking soda. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

5

Bake the Pretzel

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
