Tiramisu Base
Method
Preparation
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
Brew the espresso and let it cool. You can also add a splash of Luxardo cherry liqueur for extra flavor.
Mix the Mascarpone
In a bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
Assemble the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso mixture, making sure not to soak them. Layer half of the dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
Add Luxardo Cherries
Drizzle some Luxardo cherry liqueur over the mascarpone layer and scatter some Luxardo cherries on top.
Finish Layering
Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and more Luxardo cherries.
Chill
Cover and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with additional Luxardo cherries if desired.
