1. Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and cut the Yukon Gold potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.
2. Cook the Potatoes
Bring the pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, add salt and cook the potatoes for about 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.
3. Drain and Mash
Drain the potatoes well and return them to the pot. Add the unsalted butter, heavy cream, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
4. Add Cheese
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until well combined. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper to taste.
5. Serve
Transfer the mashed potatoes to a serving bowl. Optionally, sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese on top and serve warm.
