Method
Prepare the Burger Patties

Mix the Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.
Cook the Burger Patties

Add Cheese
After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.
Assemble the Burger

Toast the Buns (optional)
If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Layer the Toppings
On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, and then add slices of fresh tomato.

Add Condiments
Top with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise to taste, then place the top half of the bun on each burger.
