Method

Prepare Dry Ingredients

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

Prepare Wet Ingredients

  1. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth and uniform.

Combine Ingredients

  1. 3

    Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently fold the mixture together with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Cook Pancakes

  1. 4

    Heat Skillet

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or a small amount of butter.

  2. 5

    Pour Batter

Using a ladle or measuring cup, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. 6

    Flip Pancakes

Carefully flip the pancake using a spatula and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Serve the pancakes warm topped with maple syrup and whipped cream to taste.
