Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted unsalted butter, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Gently stir until just combined; it's okay if there are a few lumps. Do not overmix.

  2. 4

    Preheat Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with a small amount of butter or cooking spray.

  3. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Remove pancakes from the skillet and stack them on a plate. Serve warm with maple syrup and whipped butter on top.
