Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Prepare Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

  2. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can add a little butter to grease the pan if desired.

  3. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  4. 6

    Serve

Stack the pancakes on a plate. Serve warm with butter and maple syrup drizzled on top.
