Falafel Ingredients

Method

Falafel Preparation

  1. 1

    Soak Chickpeas

Soak the dried chickpeas in water overnight or for at least 8 hours. Drain and rinse well.

  2. 2

    Blend Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the soaked chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms, scraping down the sides as needed.

  3. 3

    Form Patties

Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add flour. Mix well and form into small balls or patties, about 1.5 inches in diameter.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.

  5. 5

    Fry Falafel

Carefully drop the falafel balls into the hot oil, frying in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the falafel warm with tahina sauce and green s’hug on the side.
