Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the porterhouse steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F).

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  5. 5

    Add Butter and Herbs

In the last minute of grilling, add butter and fresh rosemary on top of the steaks and close the lid to melt the butter.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  7. 7

    Deglaze the Pan

If using a grill pan, deglaze with red wine by pouring it into the pan and scraping the bottom to incorporate the drippings.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve with the pan sauce drizzled on top.
