Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped dill, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture over the salmon fillets.

  2. 2

    Bake the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bread

While the salmon is baking, toast the whole grain bread slices until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Open-Faced Sandwich

Once the salmon is done, remove it from the oven. On each slice of toasted bread, layer avocado slices, followed by the baked salmon. Top with sliced tomatoes and capers.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the open-faced salmon immediately, garnished with extra dill if desired.
