Chow Mein Noodles
Method
Preparation
Cook the Noodles
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the chow mein noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Protein
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add your choice of beef, pork, chicken, or tofu, and stir-fry until cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Stir-Fry the Vegetables
In the same skillet, add the remaining vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Then add the bell pepper, carrot, and half of the green onions. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
Combine Ingredients
Return the cooked protein to the skillet, then add the cooked noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Toss everything together to combine and heat through, about 2-3 minutes.
Season and Serve
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with the remaining green onions and serve hot.
