Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

1

Rinse the Rice

Begin by rinsing 1 cup of long-grain white rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch and prevents the rice from becoming sticky.

2

Measure Water

In a separate measuring cup, measure out 2 cups of water.

Cooking

3

Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water. Stir to ensure the rice is evenly distributed in the water.

4

Add Seasonings

Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, and 1 teaspoon of dried parsley to the saucepan.

5

Bring to Boil

Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil.

6

Simmer

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan with a lid, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water has been absorbed.

7

Fluff the Rice

After cooking, remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes. Then, fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
