Steak

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels, then rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil. Generously apply the spice mixture to both sides of the steaks, pressing it into the meat to ensure it adheres.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F) or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes until it's hot.

  2. 3

    Sear the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks on the grill or in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, without moving them, to create a nice sear. Flip the steaks using tongs and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if a more well-done steak is desired.

  3. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.

Serving

  1. 5

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the steaks against the grain into thick slices. Serve immediately with your choice of sides, such as a baked potato or grilled vegetables.
